For those who have never had the opportunity to leave someone at the MTC, I'm not sure how to describe it. All of the missionaries and their families meet in a large room. There is a bit of a welcome, a brief video, and the next thing you know, you are watching your son head out the door on the opposite side of the room, knowing you won't see him for two years. Needless to say, our family went through a lot of Kleenex. Kyle seemed pretty relaxed, although he did shed a few tears at the end. Having experienced the MTC myself, the first night is tough. The reality of two years away is a lot to absorb, regardless of how ready you thought you may have been. Kyle is a great kid, and up to the task. We are proud of him, and appreciate all the support we have received from everyone over the last few months. We will try and update this site with photos and commentary as the time goes by.
